ICC World Cup Cricket Match 2007

Kenya vs The Netherlands Warm UP Match

KEN vs NET Warm-Up: Kenya beat Netherlands by 9 runs

A terrific performance by the Netherlands top order was ruined by a catastrophic collapse as Kenya beat then by nine runs in Jamaica.
Chasing a tricky 275 to win, the Dutch were indebted to openers Darron Reekers (75) and Bas Zuiderent (65) before Ryan Ten Doeschate added a quick 50. That left them apparently cruising to victory but the off-spin of Steve Tikolo (5-48) transformed the match. The Netherlands ended up an agonising 10 runs short of victory on 265-9.
Pre-Match Report: Kenya and Holland will be looking to score a psychological edge, when they contest their final Cricket World Cup 2007 warm-up match on Thursday at the Trelawny multi-purpose stadium in Jamaica.
The two ICC Associate nations were both beaten in their opening warm-up matches earlier in the week against much stronger opposition, but they are now punching in their own weight category and victory would be a timely boost of confidence before entering the main draw of the competition next week. Kenya captain Steve Tikolo was satisfied his side showed enormous fighting qualities, despite losing to West Indies by 21 runs on Monday, and says his side has plans to go a step further against the Dutch. Holland will be looking to rebound from a 182-run defeat to the Indians on Tuesday, although their skipper Luuk van Troost felt they were competitive in the field.
Kenya won a low-scoring affair by seven wickets over Holland in the only limited-overs international they have contested against each other last January 31 in the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) in Nairobi.
The victory helped the African side win the inaugural WCL for ICC Associate nations.
World Cup warm-up, Jamaica Kenya 274-8 beat Netherlands 265-9 by 9 runs
