Ryan ten Doeschates five wicket haul could not prevent India from reaching an exact 300 for 9 in 50 overs against Holland in their World Cup warm-up tie being currently played Tuesday in Jamaicas Trelawny multi-purpose ground.
The Indian charge was led by brisk half centuries from master blaster Sachin Tendulkar (61) and captain Rahul Dravid (74), who guided India to the shores of safety. Holland has won the toss and has decided to ball first. Team India has adorned the new jerseys. Old time pair Virender Sehwag and Saurav Ganguly has opened the innings for India.
The Rahul Dravid-led team, which is regarded as a front-runner for the title by a few former cricketers, will use the opportunity to fine-tune their skills for the mega event. The Indians will play another practice game against the West Indies on Friday before the tournament gets underway on March 13. The Indians will open their campaingn with a match against Bangladesh in Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad on March 17. The Indian team will go into the tournament high on confidence after their recent home series wins against the West Indies and Sri Lanka.
